Why CPR Training is Crucial for Your Workplace

Emergencies can strike at any time, and your team needs to be ready to act swiftly. CPR is one of the most crucial skills to have in a medical emergency. Whether it’s a cardiac arrest, choking, or an injury, CPR helps save lives by restoring blood flow and breathing. MedPhysicals Plus’ CPR training ensures your employees are fully equipped to handle any emergency in the workplace.

  • Boost Survival Rates: Immediate CPR can double or triple survival rates following a cardiac arrest.
  • Prevent Further Injury: Proper first aid and CPR techniques prevent worsening of injuries and improve outcomes.
  • Promote Workplace Safety: CPR training creates a culture of safety, showing your employees that their well-being is a top priority.

What You’ll Learn in Our CPR Training

Our CPR courses cover the essential skills needed to respond to a range of emergencies, ensuring that your employees feel confident and prepared to act when every second counts.

Section 1: CPR for Adults, Children, and Infants

  • How to Perform Adult CPR:
    1. Check for Responsiveness: Gently tap the person and shout to see if they respond.
    2. Call for Help: Call 911 or have someone else do it while you start CPR.
    3. Chest Compressions: Place your hands on the center of the chest and press hard and fast (at least 2 inches deep at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute).
    4. Rescue Breaths: After every 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths by tilting the head back, pinching the nose, and breathing into the mouth.
  • How to Perform Child CPR:
    1. Same steps as adult CPR, but use one hand for chest compressions, and ensure compressions are about 1.5 inches deep.
  • How to Perform Infant CPR:
    1. Check for Responsiveness: Tap the infant gently and check for breathing.
    2. Chest Compressions: Use two fingers and compress the chest about 1.5 inches deep.
    3. Rescue Breaths: Cover the infant’s nose and mouth with your mouth, giving gentle breaths.

Section 2: Using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

  • How to Use an AED:
    1. Turn on the AED: Power up the AED.
    2. Apply Pads: Attach the electrode pads to the person’s bare chest as instructed by the device.
    3. Analyze Rhythm: Allow the AED to analyze the heart rhythm.
    4. Administer Shock: If advised, press the shock button and continue CPR until emergency medical services arrive.

Section 3: First Aid for Common Workplace Injuries

  • Bleeding Control:
    1. Apply Direct Pressure: Use a clean cloth or bandage to apply pressure to the wound.
    2. Elevate the Limb: If possible, elevate the injured limb above heart level to reduce bleeding.
  • Burn Treatment:
    1. Cool the Burn: Hold the burn under cool (not cold) running water for 10-15 minutes.
    2. Cover the Burn: Cover with a clean, non-stick bandage to prevent infection.
  • Choking Relief:
    1. For Adults & Children (Over 1 Year): Perform the Heimlich maneuver by standing behind the person, placing your hands above the navel, and thrusting inward and upward.
    2. For Infants (Under 1 Year): Hold the infant face down, give 5 back slaps, and then 5 chest compressions.
